And so it begins... Spring '09 semester

So I've been back in UB for 5 days or so and I've been having a lot of computer problems.

The first was a server issue going on in the entire campus where the LAN internet, wireless internet, blackboard, and everything else was having a service outage. It wasn't so bad for me, but a lot of other people couldn't get online to check their class schedules, and there's also that class add/drop period going on..

That's fixed.

And then, just yesterday my computer got a virus.. some kind of worm/trojan whatever. I tried to get rid of it, and FAST because I had to book my springbreak flight and buy textbooks.

In the end, I decided it was about time to format and reinstall my Windows. Sadly, though, I did not have a Windows XP cd so I had to make do with my Windows Vista cd. I've never been fond of Vista, so I'll have to suck it up.

On a side note, since my roommate moved out and I haven't gotten a new roommate as of YET, I've had the double room all to myself, which has both good and bad sides to it.

I've changed the furniture around a bit, so there's a lot of room for me now.

I've also moved my desk and TV around so I can watch TV comfortably from my deskseat as well as from my bed lol.

The rooms smells so much cleaner! My mom bought me one of those plug-it-in air fresheners and it's soo strong (not necessarily a good thing).

The room is also MUCH brighter because I've opened all the blinds lol. I love walking into my room when I come back from class and it's like sooo bright that I don't even need to turn on the lights. XD

I've also been able to keep my room clean! Which is amazing.. since everyone seems to think I'm such a lazy person ._.

However, it does get lonely sometimes. But I don't think I would want a stranger for a roommate anyways. But I'm still waiting to see if anyone will move in.

My classes have been good too. However, I have yet to buy textbooks... yiikes.

I don't have my Aero job anymore.. and I don't want to ask my parents for money all the time. So I'm being all stingy about textbook-shopping.. always looking for a cheaper deal. Sigh.

Also, I left my contact solution at home. So I've been wearing my glasses this whole week and it's hurting the area that the nose-piece is supposed to protect.

I'm watching Diego the Explorer, and I'm wondering: is he like the boyfriend of Dora's? Or brother? I don't know.. but I like Dora so much better. Her bookbag was purple.

So I'm so angry because I just bought my A&F jacket (Clarissa) for $130 (originally $200) on clearance... and NOW, it's down to $80!! However, they only have my color (brown) in XS, but still have the other color (blue) in all sizes. I guess I bought the right color! So there's a lot of deals going on right now.. and I'm so tempted to buybuybuy!! But then again, I must save my money...

Stuck in the Airport for 7 hours!

Yesterday was such a boring day, because I spent the whole day at the airport.

My flight's departure was 10:45. Though I left the house at 9:30, I arrived at the airport at 10:00 because of the terrible snow/ice everywhere. Then, there was the longest line ever for the check-in and bag drop. It took 30 minutes to check my bag!

And then I hurried over to the security gate, which also had a line, and it took about 7 or 8 minutes to get through it.

And when I thought it couldn't get worse, my gate (gate 16) was the farthest one. And when I got there, the doors had closed. Though it was still 10:40 and 5 minutes before scheduled departure, they had closed the doors a little early. What luck.

Sweating & exhausted from all that running, I walked over to customer service desk. The lady said the next 2 flights for Buffalo were full, so the best next thing was to be put on standby and if there are no-shows for the those flights, I can take their seat.

So I waited for the 2:20pm flight, playing my DS (Professor Layton and the Curious Village) the whole time, and when they finally started boarding, there weren't enough seats for all of us standbys (there were so many!)

And so, I waited for the 5:00pm flight, but I had lost much hope.. and thought about paying a $40 fee to change my flight to the 6:35pm (that was the only one that wasn't full) but decided to wait it out.

By then, my DS was out of battery, leaving me bored shitless. And so I sat there... and surely enough, 5 o'clock flight came along and I had myself a seat on the plane!

The plane was queued for quite some time, though.. about an hour... so we didn't take off until 6. But I was just glad to be on it. I arrived at NYC a little after 7 and went down to baggage claim. I couldn't find my luggage on the belt, so I got a bit anxious... but soon found it later (someone had taken it off the belt and placed it in some abandoned corner in the airport T__T).

That was my terrible day.

And today, I started my spring '09 semester. I had 4 classes today, starting at 9.. with no breaks in-between! Tiresome, indeed.

At least the internet is working now.

And, my roommate moved out. So half of the room is completely bare (with just plain furniture) and the room looks really big. I'm pretty sure there will be someone else moving in soon, and although part of me would like the room to myself, I will be looking forward to meeting my new roommate.

I'm eating congee lol. My mom bought me a mini-ricecooker. Woohoo!

I hate Jetblue

So I've having the worst of luck with airplanes lately..

First is when my plane ran into a bird in the sky and it damaged the engine so we had to turn back... and switch onto another airplane (mad delay!!)

And now.. my flight on Sunday back to Buffalo is cancelled.

20th

Sometimes it feel like you're staring back at yourself in the mirror, and watching your reflection rot. And so you lift your hand to touch your face... still as fresh and smooth as ever.

So I'm 20 today. But I don't feel as happy as I had been on my 19th, 18th, 17th, and so on. Birthdays come and go, each one becoming more and more insignificant.

On a side note, I'm totally into this new DS game I've been playing.. Professor Layton and the Curious Village! :D

Anyway, gotta go blowdry my hair now...
