Once again, flies, and House.

And once again I look upon the cross where You died
I'm humbled by Your mercy and I'm broken inside
Once again I thank You
Once again I pour out my life

************************

I spent the past hour hunting this fly in my room. Yes, a whole hour. I am sooo scared of bugs, especially the flying kind. I'm terrified of them. I hair-sprayed the fly until I eventually immobilized it, MUHAHAHAHA and then I killed it.

Flies are so darn icky. Ugh.

Anyways, this is my favorite scene of House M.D:

Expections, smexpectations.

Sometimes, it's not about what he's not able to do for you or give you, but what he's already done for you and already given you.

I couldn't find it on youtube, but I love this song:

I can't sleep

I can't sleep. So much on my mind.

I had to write a made-up resume for my computer&statistics class. The main point was knowing how to use word2007 to write a resume. It was sad that the only thing real on my resume was... my name. I had to make up all the experience. In reality, I've got nothing. Nada. And I've really got to start building my resume. I'm already a sophmore! But I'm so lost and don't know where to begin.

Another thing on my mind: I hate work. I been working at Aeropostale at the mall for over a month now, and I've only worked 4 days x 4 hours each = 16 hours. The damn place just won't give me any hours! How am I supposed to rise up to positions like cashier when I'm forever stuck at fitting rooms & greeting? It's so ridiculous. And I can't even quit a) because I don't want to be a quitter, and b) because I don't know how to tell them. I can't go looking for another job either... because I gave Aero all my free hours. BBUTT they only freaking ask me to work once, sometimes twice a week. And I don't have a set schedule; it's different every week. I hate that! Are they so lazy that they can't even give us a set schedule??

I've only received my first paycheck so far. A total of 4.5 hours = $28.

That's bus money right there.

Sigh. Why is life so hard?

Oh, and another thing: It's snowing. I hate the cold! Out of all places, why did I pick Buffalo again??

I had an accounting test on monday.. I had no sleep the night before. I studied so much that I had to take a break and started on a cleaning frenzy. I cleaned my floor, cleaned my desk, cleaned the whole room essentially, and did 4 loads of laundry. When I finally went back to studying, I was all pumped from cleaning LOL. However, the test was hard as rocks.

Speaking of rocks, Geology test on thursday = time to cram + no sleep.

I was also bummed out yesterday because I was kicked out of my dorm for a whole hour. I was sitting in the kitchen, and then sitting in my little hallway room the whole time... bored, and on the phone complaining to my boyfriend. Only him would be willing to listen to me rant for an hour<3

I guess I'm just having a crummy week.

Ah shit it's 1 am. I have to get up at 8 in the morning.

Goodnight!

Finally got it: CHI Flat Iron

Hey! I ordered a CHI flat iron along with some other things from beautychoice.com the other day. I received my package today!

So this is what I got:

This is the CHI Silk Infusion and it's basically a gel formula that makes your hair more smooth and silky, and prevents flyaways. You just put a tiny amount onto your hair before you straighten it. I tried it out and it works pretty well. It really does smooth the hair out and even makes it more silky, without creating oil build-up in the hair (I hate products that do that). It also smells really nice, hehe. But at $8.95 for a 2 0z. bottle, it's a tad too expensive. But I'll use it up and if I really like it, I'll buy a bigger bottle which is probably a better deal.

This is the CHI ceramic round brush and I really hate it. Those things sticking out of it aren't even brush-material, they are like metal wires! How am I supposed to brush my hair with that? I did try it out, and it didn't tangle my hair or anything, but the bristles are way too rough for me to use. It's also huge! It was $15 and completely waste of money. I hope nobody else buys this.

Look at how big it is compared to my hair. Ridiculous.

THIS is the 1'' CHI Flat Iron by Farouk. When I first opened the box and saw it, my first impression of it was "dang, this thing looks cheap!". Then again, I had high expectations for a straightener that cost me $79. But I tried it out, and I used the CHI Silk Infusion first, and I didn't see great results right away. There's an on/off button and once you turn it on, it heats up within seconds (seriously, seconds! my old straightener took at least 5 minutes to "warm up") which was soo amazing. And the outside part (black part) is not hot at all, but I somehow still managed to burn myself by accidently touching the inside ceramic plates (yellow part). That was suppper hot.

My burn.

It had a neat little "CHI" written at the end. Hehe.

My order came out to be like $102 but I got a [$10 off $100] coupon so it was $92 & free shipping! It ordered it last tuesday and they didn't ship it out until friday but the shipping was pretty fast because I received it today. I'm pretty satisfied with everything (except that darn brush!)

Hot pink nails with white french tips.

I looove hot pink nails, they're cute & chic, but still everyday and fun!

I came across this youtube video showing how this girl did her french tips and I totally loved it. So I tried it out. [click here for video]

This is my first attempt at doing french tips free-hand on myself, that is, without the white tape or special tools or anything of that. I've always liked french nails, but they're too much of a hassle for me, and I especially hate the white tape method. It takes practice, but doing it free-hand is actually a lot easier than using the dumb tape. For the nail polish, I used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in "White On" and "Fuschia Power". My CVS had them for $2.79 each, buy 1 get 1 50% off, so the other one only cost me $1.39. Good deal! (and they're Sally Hansen so you know they're good)

While I was at CVS yesterday, I also grabbed a hold of a basecoat and a topcoat by Orly because I heard they were like realllyyy good. But they were super expensive at $5.99 and $7.99 each (but I have to admit the Sally Hansen bottles were 11.8ml and these were 18ml). The basecoat is called "Bonder" and it's supposed to prevent the color from wearing off, and the topcoat is called "In a Snap" and it's supposed to dry the nail polish really quickly, hence the name. I was really excited to try the pair together because I've heard so many good things about it. So I tried it. I used the basecoat after washing my nails, trimming and filing them, and before applying any color. I used the topcoat after I used the two nail polish colors. I'm loving them so far! It really dried instantly and it leaves the nail looking sooo shiny and so brilliant. I've used tons of different top/base coats and none of them can compare to these two. They're definitely worth the extra few bucks.

Then I was a little bored so I designed my nails, kind of. In the video, the girl used a toothpick to do it, but I just went ahead to used this little bottle of nail art paint I had lying around. I think it works the same.

Yesterday, after stopping by CVS I went back to my dorm and my roommate wanted me to help her do her makeup for this halloween party she was going to. Her costume is like, a moulin-rouge inspired outfit (or lack of) that's full of frill and lace. It was black and pink so I tried to do the makeup with those colors. I did the eyes really dramatic, heavy eyeliner, smoky eyeshadow, and all that, and did nude lips. It turned out really nice, at least to me lol.

After that, I rushed downstairs to catch the the white church van, aka the "tofu bus". I went to church and it was pretty cool because I got to meet a bunch of the newcomers and I finally met our pastor, Pastor Sunny, lol.

Oh yeah! And there's an update on my blog, which is the music box on the right side. I got rid of the videos because, I don't know about you, but they kept pausing at times. But isn't the teddy bear music box sooo cute?

I've got an Accounting exam on monday, so I gotta go back to studying. It's less material than the first test but it's supposed to be a lot harder because the material is more in-depth and expanded-on and such. Pray for me!

The Good and the Bad

It's been a while since my blogging days, that is, Xanga. I've shut my Xanga down for a while now, for several reasons (such as unwanted stalkers!) and didn't think I'd ever need that outlet ever again.

I was wrong.

Many things have happened lately. Some good, some not so good.

Let's start with the "good". Well, my grades are still on the upside: A's and B's. Of course I'd like all A's, as any college student would agree, and sometimes I also feel like I'm not performing my best, but it is what it is. I try not to dwell on the what's-done, and focus on the what-to-do-now.

The bad stuff, I'd have to list.

1. My grandfather passed away last Monday and I didn't know until Tuesday, which was when my mom called to tell me. Of course she wasn't all that sad, since it wasn't her dad, and I wasn't really close with my grandpa either. I think my dad had it the worst. He had many sleepless nights, and many heated arguments with his siblings (my aunts and uncles) over things such as splitting funeral costs and the types of services and type of casket to buy.

2. On top of that, my dad just had his storage broken-into a week earlier, so he was already in a bad mood. This winter's going to be cold; I wonder how he'll get through this winter at the FM. Would thick coats and extra layers be enough?

3. Since my grandpa's funeral was going to held within a week of his death, I had to book a roundtrip flight immediately for this past Friday. The funeral was Saturday.

4. It was my first funeral. And besides the all-black attire and gloomy atmosphere, I hadn't had a clue what else to expect. Because my grandpa was Christian, the funeral included a Christian ceremony, which consisted of a Pastor, lots of praying, and song-singing. I did say I wasn't very close with my grandpa, but I couldn't hold back the tears as my uncle gave the eulogy. There were many things I hadn't known about my grandpa, such as the many struggles he went through and the many times people gave him contempt. I felt grief, felt regret, felt despair, but among all else, I felt respect for the man who laid ever so peacefully in that mahogany casket.

Oct. 13, 2008 -- R.I.P Grandpa, I love you

5. On my way back, Monday morning, I had planned for a 7:40 flight that would arrive in Buffalo by 9am and then make it just in time for my 9:45am Chinese 201 class. And I had boarded the plane 7:10, and the plane had even took off a tad early at 9:35. But just as we took off into the sky, there was some noise on the left wing and the pilot soon after told us we had hit a bird and we would have to turn back and land so maintenance could check up on the plane. After waiting way too long for that to happen, the pilot said we'd have to get all our stuff and switch onto another plane. We did. The next plane was set to leave at 9:40. I would definitely be missing my class. I called Kevin, who was picking me up later, to let him know about this delay.

I hate birds.

The good? Jetblue is giving me a $25 voucher for this inconvenience.

The bad? I missed my chinese quiz, and got an absence. || EDIT: chinese quiz was postponed! I was able to take it on time.

Despite the fact that it was for a funeral, I was really glad to have gone home. Three nights in my full-sized bed at home beats any week here at Buffalo. But alas, this is where I belong, for now at least. I might not have a grand-sized bed, good food to eat, or family/boyfriend here, but this is where I chose to study... University at Buffalo. It's my second year, so I'm almost halfway through. That's the good.

Alright, that's all for now. I've got a lot more on my mind, but my brain hurts from cramming for my MGQ201 test. Goodnight.
